If evolution were true, then why has evolution set us up for a failure like this? Why aren’t we programmed to enjoy eating healthy food like fruits and vegetables- it would be to our benefit if we were.

If we had stayed natural, living off the land, we would be healthier. It’s unnatural, processed foods that are the problem.

Are you married? Sex within marriage is good. It is satisfying and enjoyable. In the word God compares it with a stream or a river. Many forsake the living water (from God and his ways) for the fast flowing rivers of tantalizing excitement. But these ways (sex outside marriage) are a perversion of God’s ways, which truly fulfill.
The same is true with eating healthy versus unhealthy foods. Food the way God created it is good. It is satisfying and enjoyable. But once we taste the tantalizing foods that have been perverted from their natural state, it makes what is good seem less so.
After you return to healthy eating and learn to appreciate it, the artificial, processed food really loses its appeal. Same with all of God’s ways versus man’s perverted ways. Give it a try and see if I’m right.
I do not have any idea what this has to do with evolution however.

In fact we are “programmed” to seek out and enjoy healthy foods. Modern society and mass market media have reprogrammed you seek out and enjoy whatever product they’re trying to sell – it works quite well.
