What Kind Of Healthy Food To Purchase For My Birds?
I have one lovebird, 4 parakeets and 1 cockatiel and I am sick of feeding them petco/petland food. The seeds are unhealthy and I want them to have nutritious diet.
What kind of food can I buy for them besides pellets? My birds are very picky and don’t eat everything…not even fruit.

I have found that using Lafeber (http://www.lafeber.com/) is the best. They have little round balls that birds love to eat, they are kind of like fruits and vegetables, and they are the best option besides fruits and vegetables.

I have a parakeet who is a very picky eater too who absolutly refuses to eat pealets and rarley even eat fruits/vegetables porbably because before i got him he was raised on an all-seed deit but i have found some tricks that work and when all else fails i give him his favourite treat, a drink made out of all different kinds of juices with a touch of soy milk…their isnt much else you can give them but you could try…
1) giving them different kinds of fruits and vegetables to see which they seam to like best…each bird has its own favourite.
2)soaking their pealets in all natural fruit/vegetable juice…fresh squized is better to use because it doesnt have any artificial sweeteners or anything else that might harm them.
Since most birds that are fed seeds as they grow up will rarely switch to pealets, sometimes you have no choice. You could also ask your vet if he has any ideas
hope this helps

I was told to use Lafeber. Sold at petsmart but not a store brand.
