What Is One Healthy Food That Is Cheap And Would Last Me Through The Week?

What is one healthy food that is cheap and would last me through the week? If I’m working with a tight budget, what kind of food is cheap and would last me through the week? More specifically, I would like heart healthy food and things that cost little but you get a lot of.

Answers:

like other posters said, rice and oatmeal. Whole grain is healthiest. Get creative with beans and barley too. You can buy the large cheap bag of chicken for like .70 cents a pound. Also you can save money by making your own recipes in large amounts and freeze them in meal sized bowls and save them for later on in the week or month. Buy some carrots and cabbage and add them to your recipes they are generally cheaper veggies.

A:   Hmmm. I LOVE NATURAL applesauce
Fruits
turkey
Multi grain bread
fiber one bar
all the things i would have told u someone already said em
OH YA SORRY IM NOT SURE HOW CHEAP IT IS
A:   soup. read the label to make sure it doesn’t have a lot of sodium or fat. I like Progresso soups.
A:   I would go with vegetables and lean chicken meat. It depends on how much of a tight budget you’re in.

A:   If you are looking for some heart healthy food I would say tomatoes. In every article on heart healthy food, tomatoes are right up there. I realize they aren’t that cheap and you can’t live off of them alone…but you asked…

A:   heh…
fresh fruits and veggies..
i live off of many fresh fruits and veggies for $20 a week and that’s stuffing myself with them.
that includes soymilk.
(i also juice all my fruits and veggies also..)
you’ll feel better, lose weight, be more energetic and look probably a year younger by the end of the month.

A:   try some air!
