Question: What is a good healthy dog treat i can use to replace greenies?
My dog and I love greenies because they take a while to finish and my dog loves the taste. The senior version isnt sold in bulk and are too expansive. Does anyone have any ideas on a good, healthy treat, like greenies that take awhile to finish, that would be good for my older pug w/ some health problems. Something that is sold in quantity would be great.

Greenies for senior dogs might be sold elsewhere, or under a different title.

How about a booda bone or a bully stick? You can buy bullysticks in bulk.

You could actually make them yourself. there are oodles of sites with recipes for treats and food. a biscuit recipe that is cut thick and baked low and slow will harden up very well. and you won’t believe the money you’ll save. And user “Jaslin” don’t you have anything better to do with your time than act like an a_ _?

The best dog treats are turkey or chicken jerkey, but they dont take that long to eat. My dogs love the white bones(not rawhyde) Its a real bone filled with flavoring stuff… like they like the cheese and bacon flavor one. they take forever to finish the inside and then chew on the bone for a long time after they finish the inside.

My crew get raw soup bones from the grocery store. They come in a variety of sizes and still have meat on them. Once the dogs chew the meat off, they will gnaw on the bones until they’re almost gone. Can be a little messy, so while the meat is still on the bone they get them in their crates. Once the meat is gone, I’m left with soup bones all over my living room!

There are lots of good options.
- Bully Sticks
- Raw Meaty Bones
- Bright Bites (made by diamond)
- Flossies
- Sam’s Yams
- Baa Baa Q’s
Greenies are not very healthy anyway, so good for you for switching off of them. Natural animal parts are best, but any chew that does not have corn, wheat, or rawhide is fine too.

We switched over to Bullies, but they are twice as expensive as Greenies, BUT…they last three times as long.
My neighbor gives her dogs the generic greenies, she gets a ton of them for about .
