What Are Some Good Healthy Food Ideas To Bring With Me For Lunch?
During my lunch breaks at school and work, it is hard to ALWAYS eat healthy. I need some more ideas on what to bring.

Lots of fruit and vegtables
Apples, my favorite
Bannanas
pears
peaches
plums
carrots etc.
Maybe make some greens for salads, spinach(i kno the ecoli thing, but its gone now) dandelion leafs, iceberg lettuce
low fat dressing to go w/ it if you must have dressing
Sobe is a great drink to have
stay away from the junk food no matter wat

Soups are a good thing to eat for lunch. Most are low in calories and provide a lot of nutrients that you need. plus they are easily carried and if you have access to a microwave or have a thermal soup thingy will be hot.

Salad is fast and easy and can be made in advance for 2 days. Add protein like turkey or ham or an egg if cholesterol is not a concern. Carrots, radishes tomato and cucumber added to mixed greens is great for you. Keep your salad dressing in a separate container.
The protein is not overwheming where blood needs to rush to the digestive area, which makes a person tired.

This is what I have every lunch at school:
Ham and turkey sandwhich on wheat bread
apple
soy beans or nuts
water

Raw almonds, natural applesauce packs with no added sugar, sliced celery and carrot sticks (I pack a small container of natural peanut butter or almond butter to dip the celery in). bananas, grapes, an apple.

Yogurt and a fruit and mix them together. Vanilla yogurt goes with most fruits, but you can buy those fruit cups or canned of individual serving, drain and mix with the yogurt

I personally love leftovers from dinner the night before (if there are any). Otherwise a chicken sandwich or peanut butter on toast.
Homemade pizza is also delicious for lunch! If you have access to a microwave or oven that would be good.
Otherwise if I have nothing at home to bring I get something like Indian or Chinese (ie. moderately healthy) from the shops nearby.
I like to eat a lot but sometimes I have a little bit for lunch (ie. snack bar) and save my feasting for dinner time. As long as I’ve had a big breakfast though.

Depends on your goal. As a diabetic, I pick low glycemic foods, or foods high in protein. Eating like a diabetic is a good idea for a person who wants to be in better health. Control your carbs.
An apple is a good snack. For me, high protein snacks like string cheese or beef jerky are good choices. They might be high in fat for you, but I am a personal trainer. I’m thin and can allow for the extra fat – I’ll burn it off.

Peanut butter & honey sandwich on whole wheat bread with an apple, non-fat yogurt with a bananna and granola, string cheese, apple, handfull of almonds, turkey sandwhich on whole wheat with no mayo and lots of vegies, wraps, cottage cheese with chunks of fruit and almonds, white bean tuna salad, protein shake with a peice of fruit, whole wheat bagel with low-fat cream cheese and veggie sticks. Hope that helps. Cliff and Luna Bars are also good for snacking.

I agree that you should just find a protein powder you like and stick with it. Disregard all the hype, find what works for you. For me, that is an unflavored whey protein I found at WarriorMilk.com. They don’t seem to be very well-known, but they have a great product. Aside from casein, what is another primary ingredient found in a product extracted from a cow? It is none other than whey protein which can also be obtained from plenty of processed items fresh from the farm. Hi, its great to read some info my a fellow nutrition and fitness enthusiast. I personally am not a fan of whey protein, I know that on paper it is very efficient. But i have always wondered of the dairy aspect. A protein straight from milk, something great for weight loss and weight gain depending on usage but in terms of some folks you may find yourself to have a low metabolic tolerance to dairy (some people find the same with wheat). I prefer to diversify and try different proteins. This is all my personal opinion of course but i find all our body’s are different and you must do your own search to find the right form of powder for you. i personally shift between promasil and myofusion with some mutant mass if i feel like bulking or even as a recovery drink after a power cardio workout (such as plyo).
