It is different for a diabetic than for a non diabetic person. You need to distinguish which one you are.
For a diabetic taking insulin, count your fruit in your carb total. The size of the portion will depend on the amount of carbs you allot to fruit. Remember you should not have more than 45 carbs per meal.
For a diabetic not taking insulin, but using exercise and diet to control blood sugar, test your blood sugar before each meal and then adjust your carb (fruit counts as a carb) intake according to the goal set by your M.D. or Diabetic Nutritionist. Remember 1 carb equals 3 points rise in blood sugar.
Banana’s and grapes are the only fruits forbidden to diabetics.

You did not mention if you are a diabetic or not. But really, it doesn’t matter. Fruits and vegetables should be a part of your diet, diabetic or not.
I totally disagree with what the poster above me said about grapes and bananas. My 2 year old daughter is a type 1 diabetic, and she gets at least one banana per day, and she frequently gets one carb serving of grapes. And I can tell you that a carb serving of fruits will keep her blood sugars lower than a carb serving of processed food, crackers, or just about anything else.
And even a type 2 diabetic will benefit from fruit. I have a friend who swears that eating a banana every day helps keep his type 2 under control.
Just don’t forget the veggies
) they’re very good for you too.
