Q&A: What are some good healthy foods I can make in bulk and microwave at work for lunch?

I can’t afford alot of food so I wanna know what healthy (if possible) food I can buy and make large quantity for cheap. It has to be microwavable or served cold.
Just not real bad for me, doesn’t have to be healthy per say. I just eat alot of pasta and pizza so I wanna get something a lil better.

The answer in the following:

Answer by rogerrabbitanddoe
consider casseroles, stews,CHILI, mac and cheese, rice combos, beans and wieners, meatballs done as pasta sauce or swedish ,lasagna , chicken a la king or salmon ala king, meat loaf shepherds pie salmon loaf

Answer by child101
a sandwhich. you cud eat that any temp.

Answer by Faniya
i would say good choices and any kind because there healthy all of them

Answer by Jen
Don’t know what you define as healthy or cheap, but I typically make large batches of chili or pasta to take with me to work. The chili is pretty cheap considering the servings I get from it: Kidney beans, black beans, whole kernel sweet corn, brown rice, large jar (24 oz?) salsa… I typically use two cans/cups of each. The pasta is cheap too, and I either add sauce or saute it the night before with a bit of butter and onion. Soup is also relatively cheap and can be made in bulk to take to work. I use two cartons of broth, two packages of soup veggies, one cup corn, one cup broccoli, half pound ring-shaped pasta (look like Spaghetti O’s).

Best of luck!

Answer by Oldwhiteguy2earth
Don’t forget that if you do make dinners at home, you can always make an extra serving or two. Almost anything can be frozen and microwaved at work later. That way you would have a lot of variety.

Q&A: What is a healthy lunch i can bring to school?

I really am working on being healthy and it disgusts me the fattening food they serve at my highschool so iam going to start bringing home lunch. I am not very good when it comes to planning lunches and i usually dont have alot of time in the morning to make them. I have overused the PB&J sandwich and i dont have acces to a microwave so yeah. I am working to loose weight as well so i want to keep the calorie intake lower. Thanks for your help.

The answer in the following:

Answer by Frisco (415)®
A good sandwhich with ham, lettuce, manase, and all that stuff also a salad is really good.

Answer by ♫HSM2♫KELLY♫
-Water bottle
-Sandwhich- Wheat bread, turkey, no dressing. Nonfat cheese
-fruit cups- or veggies. (they’re refrigerated)

good luck!

KELLY♥♥

Answer by robert h
STRAWBERRY CHEESE CAKE AND VODKA

Answer by matthew m
just go to the salad bar at school..they should have apples and salad..

Answer by Vegetarian7
I normally bring a salad, PB & banana sandwich, or a PB sandwich.

Along with that I bring a bottle of water, 2 fruits, and normally one of these…
*A few nuts
*A rice cake
*A 100 calorie pack
*Nuts
*Veggies
*Edamame
*Veggie chips
*Fiber One bar
*Granola Bar
*Trail Mix

Answer by anyte
Salad, wrap or sandwich, use whole grains, meat, reduced fat cheese, and veggies. Most lunch meats, turkey, chicken, roast beef are better choices than peanut butter and jelly.

Question: What is a healthy bagged lunch to bring to school?

I need some healthy lunch ideas to bring with me to school. Something practical that fits in my bag preferably.

The answer in the following:

Answer by The Fair Melissa
Tuna sandwich without the mayo on wheat bread with a piece of fruit. Add some water to your lunch (bottled or tap, doesn’t matter).

Answer by $omeone
bottled water, a green salad with half of a serving of low-fat or fat-free dressing and an apple

Answer by chocoholic9179
i’d bring a fruit and a simple balogna and cheese sandwich, and a water bottle

Answer by David B
Juice box, something like a sandwich, some fruit/veggies, and lastly, some jello or pudding.

Answer by Cara B
I turkey sandwich with swiss cheese, pickle, and lettus on whole wheat bread. If that isn’t enough food, add a piece of fruit. Water to drink.

**EDIT**
To the posters above me:
-Baloni, pudding, and jello are not healthy! lol

Answer by dlaw2820
A turkey breast sandwich on wheat bread or white
A serving of goldfish
1 Juicy Juice

or

A Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich on White
Some Carrot Sticks
A carton or serving of 1% milk

Answer by B C
Turkey sandwich with lettuce and mustard
Baked Lays potato chips (these are much lower in fat than reg. chips – about 2 g per serving)
Lowfat or sugar-free yogurt
Fruit (kiwi or kumquats are kinda fun, if you want something different)

or

Oscar Meyer Fat-free Bologna sandwich
1 mozzarella cheese stick
1/2 cup soy nuts (low carb and surprisingly tasty)
1 fruit

Answer by shay
try some hummus with pita chips and veggies. Have a few cubes of cheese or yogurt for extra protein. This lunch is super healthy and will allow room for a small dessert if you want!

Do you find what you need? Look here!
Q&A: What is a healthy lunch for a teenage during summer?

I am a fourteen year old trying to eat lunch everyday, during summer. I wake up around noon or eleven and sometimes just eat just breakfast. I want to eat lunch, but cannot eat out and I don’t like many cold cuts and processed food. I am on a semi-diet to prevent acne breakouts (not really weight loss diet) that is accompanied by a little weightlifting/aerobic activity. My preferences are spicy food, does not take long to make (or much skill), is at least under in grocery, and is healthy. Thanks!
I am underweight around 100 lbs. Both of my parents work, so either them or I can cook on a stove. P.S. Tuna and peanut butter is not healthy

Q&A:

Answer by cae
Go with a pack of yellow corn tortillas, Bottle of hot salsa, eggs and green lettuce (cheddar optional).
The secret is to fill the entire skillet with scrambled eggs, then put them aside in a big bowl…Micro or steam a bunch of tortillas and put them aside. Now, make a bunch of scrambled egg soft tacos, adding a little extra hot sauce and/or cheese, enclose them in baggies and refrigerate for later days. Chop up the lettuce and store.
Every day, take out about 3 or 4 of them, lay them in a Tupperware, heat them up, pour on the salsa and add the lettuce.
This is a VERY filling, tasty and satisfying lunch!
Make sure you eat lots of oranges too.
All this is very cheap and nutritious!

Answer by littlearthquake3355
Yogurt, nuts and some fruit? Perhaps granola bar with it. Veggie wraps, things like that…

Answer by DAVEG_10
Have a beer and a whole wheat bagel

Answer by luvolskool
bagged salads and add cooked chicken breast

Answer by littlesatanpug
Salads and Parfaits are the only cheap thing I can of.

Answer by George W. Bush
I like tuna fish sandwich

Answer by Julie D
a peanut butter and jelly sandwish, a banana, and juice. or a grilled cheese sandwish, peach, and juice. you can add yogert, or cottage cheese.

Answer by tabina644
lets see u have options soo u can either

jog
eat fruits
workout
cut back on soda and other sweet stuff
yogurt

so wat u basically want to do is this

eat healthy ,drink lots of water, cut back on soda

Answer by cope_acetic
Spicy Ramen noodles would be good, unless you are watching salt intake. They are VERY cheap, cook in 3 minutes, and are delicious. There are a lot of varieties, too. They are versatile, since you can add vegetables or meats to make a heartier meal.

Answer by aanstalokaniskiodov_nikolai
Well, it’s nice that you can sleep in so late. You should have your mother cook for you since you won’t always have her there. Why not use her while you can? Don’t tell me you’re uncomfortable with that because judging by how late you sleep in, you don’t respect her enough to get up early to help out around the house or such.

Eh, now to answer your question: diet celery. It will keep the weight off. And if you put peanut butter on it, that’s good, and the healthiness of the diet celery balances the unhealthiness of the peanut butter. Just eat fruits and vegetables. Those are easy to prepare, and are not processed.

What do you think? Answer below!

Q&A: Is chicken noodle soup and a banana a healthy lunch?

I’m trying to eat healthier. My goal is to be a model, so obviously I need not only to be healthy, but to look healthy as well!
MIz Lamb, not all models starve themselves. Don’t be so sterotypical. Models like Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima are really healthy and eat really well. MIranda Kerr even once stated, “I only do things that are good for my body”, and obviously starving herself is not one of those things.

The answer in the following:

Answer by lone wolf
yup, sounds healthy to me.

Answer by jlplusec
Sounds good but you need to remember to use color if you are trying to be healthy. If it is white colors, it is starchy. Make sure at dinner to throw in some color, especially green.

Answer by Elena R
Yes it is…but watch the sodium in the soup.

Answer by bbgirl
No, bannanas are loaded with starchy sugar, and chicken noodle soup, if not homemade, is loaded with sodium, starch, and processed meat. There are no veggies in the mix, no fiber, and two many starchy carbs

Answer by Miz Lamb
NOT for a model!!! they must starve most of the time to maintain the skinniest of frames.

eat mostly dark green salad stuff with a little bit of other fruits and veggies!

chicken noodle soup and a banana are very heavy carbohydrate foods and the soup has way too much salt in it.
