tips:children healthy food–: How often as a parent do you buy your children presents relating to food and healthy eating?
How often would you as a parent buy your children presents that promotes nutritional eating? Working on a business plan for a children’s toy aimed at parents of children between the ages of 3-5 and trying to work out the seasonality of toy purchasing behavior. Any suggestions please??

The answer in the following: (Hint: For answers, no site audit.)

Answer by Dreaded Teareon
never

Answer by Moon
My son just turned 4 and his grandmother bought him a toy shopping cart with plastic food.He has fruits and vegetables. He is autistic and doesn’t talk but my 2 year old can now name the fruits and vegetables. She says “Cauliflower, eggplant, tomato, celery, etc.” She pretends to eat them.

Other than that, I do not see what other toys there are that promote healthy eating (besides a food pyramid puzzle?). Since they have their plastic food, I will not be buying them anything else regarding healthy eating.

So to answer your question, NONE.

tips:Question–: Where can I find a healthy food diet to last me several weeks?
I’m a 17 year old who is pretty active, I’m starting a new workout plan and I would really like to just cut the junk food out of my diet. I’d like to find a meal plan that tells you what exactly to eat each day if such a thing exists.
I know most of that. I have swim practice every day so I wouldn’t starve myself, and I’m not necessarily trying to lose weight, I don’t need to.

The following is the answer: (Hint: The reader is not the correct identification.)

Answer by !
NO

The MOST important thing is to eat naturally..without medicines, chemicals, “starving” your self etc.

first, it would be best for you to eat as healthy as possible..this will also help you considerably to lose weight gradually and naturally..

eat fresh fruits, vegetables, drink plenty of WATER..avoid all cokes, caffeines, smoking, alchohol etc. as these also add weight as well as they contain chemicals which disturb your natural bio rythmns as well as brain chemistry. try not to eat too much meat, and the meat you should eat should be “lean meat” such as steamed chicken and rice, or steamed fish with rice..and vegetables,, this should be your staple diet rice and vegetables with fruits..AVOID “JUNK FOOD” and “Fast Food” as this type of food is very unhealthy, lacking in vitamins really and has plenty of fattening molecules which make one gain weight and is not good .

if you snack,, try fruits with yogurt or fruit yogurt and nuts.. nuts are very healthy for your body .and contain proteins.

go for walks every evening or morning or whenever you get time each day for 1 hour or 2 hours..make this somewhere you enjoy walking even if you have to drive a bit to there..and make this a daily routine..you will enjoy it once you get into it ..and it makes you feel great after..just walking for 1 hour or 2 hours.

if you do this..every day for one month ..you should lose around 10 pounds (.714 stone) per month until you get to your natural healthy weight.. look up on the internet for an idea of what your weight for your height should be ..and when you get to this weight,,your body will look very nice and you will feel very good.

10 pounds (.714 stone ) each month in 3 months you should lose 30 pounds (2 stones, 2 pounds)..for sure…but no junk food and dont drink alcohol or smoke, dont eat junk..just healthy food with vitamins and walking 1 hour or 2 hours every day..and drink plenty of water..this is guaranteed way to lose weight naturally and for good, if you stick to this, which you should,,as it makes you feel so much more positive due to the vitamins and lack of chemicals making you feel depressed…

btw, forgot to mention,,just in case you dont know how to really make healthy meals..buy a “food steamer” at your local deparment store..they are very cheap and work very well..as well as buy a “rice cooker” which is also very cheap..eating rice is a great way to get your necessary carbs “healthy carbs” to lose weight and has lots of natural energy inside. you can buy asian rice at most large supermarkets or if you have a local oriental market..they sale quality asian rice.. thai or indian rice is good “jasmine rice”.. buy corn or canola oil to sprinkle on vegetables or rice before steaming to add to taste as well as you can buy several nice spices like “cumin” or “Curry powders”, etc.just sprinkle on the vegetables before steaming to give nice taste.

drink “Green Tea” as this is very healthy and helps burn extra fat faster…you can buy quality green tea at most oriental shops or large supermarkets as well

Answer by mark
whole foods store if u have one there
kinda expensive on most items.

Answer by Alina
Your more likely to go off your diet, if one day you dont feel like eating whats on the meal plan or you simply dont have it or dont like it, i would suggest you start eating unlimited veggies, lots of fish, eggs, meat and avoid processed meats, No carb diets are teh best way to get toned and lost weight, you dont even have to do vigorious exercises along with it, a 10 minute walk is enough.

Q&A–: What are some healthy foods/recipes that are easy to make?
My boyfriend has high blood pressure and is 40 pounds over weight for his age, only 19 years old. He eats very unhealthy foods, like fast food every day. I want to help him change that, and get healthy. By doing so, im willing to make him food everyday that is good for him, but im not to sure of anything that is healthy, yet still tastes good to eat. Please send me recipes or just ideas of what I could make him. Thanks =]

The answer in the following: (Hint: The reader is not the correct identification.)

Answer by blippo
awww. that’s so sweet! Well, you can look on the food network website. www.foodnetwork.com. I’m sorry, I can’t help you if you’re not looking for links.

Answer by sunbaby023
Any grilled white meat is the healthiest, mainly chicken and fish. Steamed veggies are good too. Go on www.allrecipes.com

Answer by mainegirl
There are lots of options to be healthy, but remember to include some good fats and flavor in your recipies because otherwise he won’t want to stick to his new diet and will end up binging. Not good. Also, no frying (!) and the less butter or oil you use the better.

Any kind of chicken or fish broiled or grilled (with creative seasonings to change it up) is great paired with fresh steamed veggies w/ salt and pepper. sounds boring but it’s great if you spice it up with herbs, light cheeses, lemon zest, etc., you can have different flavors all the time.

Get light italian dressing and drizzle over sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and low fat feta cheese for a side dish.

My favorite snack right now is baby carrots with hummus (roasted red pepper flavor) and it’s awesome. filling and flavorful and light on calories. If ever in doubt, wrap your favorite salad, easy on dressing, in a pita or something.

These are only ideas, nothing fancy, but hopefully it helps!

Answer by Kelly F
I think that’s great that you want to help! The first step is making sure there are healthy snacks around. Yogurt instead of ice cream, fruit like bananas and apples instead of potato chips (or at least the baked kind of potato chips if he has to have them), use whole grain bread instead of white bread, etc. Carrots with ranch dressing is a classic great snack too.

My family enjoys stir frys with broccoli, sweet peppers, and carrots. Basically, you just cut up the vegetables and saute them in a pan that you sprayed Pam on. Pour on some soy sauce for flavor. Make some rice in a separate pot (buy plain long grain rice or yellow rice and follow the directions on the package) and serve the vegetables over the rice. You can put shrimp or chicken or even strips of steak in your stir fry. If you use different colors of peppers, it’s a really pretty dish. You can even buy pre-made stir frys in the frozen section of the grocery store (like Create-a-Meal or other brands).

Answer by anaheimsportsfan
YANKEE POT ROAST, COLE SLAW AND JELLO:

Pot roast using the slow cooker
2 lb chuck roast
1 pkg lipton onion soup mix, dry
1 can cream mushroom soup, campbells
1 celery stalk, diced
1 onion, diced
2 whole carrots, peeled and cut
4 potatoes, peeled and cut in 1/4
1 crushed garlic clove
3 tbsp flour
1 Reynold’s slow cooker liner, optional

The slow cooker liner makes cleaning up a snap!
In the crock pot, add the can of cream mushroom soup, a can of water, the lipton dry soup, flour and mix the ingredients well.

Add the roast and the garlic. Mix around til covered with soup mix. Add the onions and veggies. Add water to barely cover the veggies (remember the water level may go up during cooking!).

Cover and turn crock pot to med/low. Cook 6-8 hours and it will be so tender! Serves 3-4

MEXICAN COLE SLAW
1 avocado, ripe, peeled and diced
1/2 bunch cilantro, finely diced
1 large tomato diced
1/2 cabbage, sliced and diced
1/4 c diced celery
1/2 brown onion, diced
1 fresh jalapeno, seeds removed then diced
Mayo
salt/pepper to taste

In a large bowl – Add the cabbage, then the cilantro, tomato, celery / onion, jalapeno and a dash of salt/pepper.
Add the avocado then 2 -3 tbsp of mayo or just enough to moisten to your taste. Mix well. Chill for 1 hour and serve cold

JELLO DESSERT
1 pkg large jello, any flavor
coolwhip
fresh fruit

Make the jello as on the package but use 1/2 cup less water.
Add fresh fruit like fresh strawberries, grapes, chopped apples. Let it gel for 4-6 hours. Mix up the jello and add 1/4 tub of cool whip. Add more if desired. Mix well, and its like an ambrosia.

Put the mix in a glass, and top with more fresh fruit or coolwhip.
Serves 4

4. waldorf salad (it has apples and celery and pecans in it) so you know its good for you.
5. Keep peanut butter on hand, its good on celery and apples, and its good for you.

If it meals: these are a few of my favorites
1. fish (like tuna salad) is healthy
2. Broccoli w/ rice
3. salads with Lettuce, carrots, celery, broccoli, sprouts, sunflower seeds, cheese (you can keep each item seperate so you can eat it as a salad or dip them as a snack)

Hope these help:

PS
Granola is a great healthy snack:
4 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, peanuts, almonds, or pecans
1 cup honey
In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients.
In a 2-quart saucepan, heat the honey, oil and vanilla until syrupy.
Add to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Spread on a jellyroll pan.
Bake for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
Store in a covered container.
variations:
add one or more of these
1 cup coconut, 1/2 cup any dried fruits (apples, cranberries, raisins)
and you can omit the wheat germ (if you don’t have any on hand)

i was just wondering can you get fat from over eating healthy food such as fruits vegetables etc. ?

The answer in the following: (Hint: The answer is not necessarily.)

Answer by Carlos
lol i dont think theres such a good thing as too much healthy foods…

hahahha

Answer by Jamie
You can, I mean they do contain calories, right? To gain a pound you must not burn 3500 calories, to lose a pound you must burn 3500 calories. Pretty simple huh?

Answer by Jerry H
Yes, you can. If you take in more calories than you burn, you will gain weight, no matter where the calories are coming from. Fruits and vegetables tend to be relatively low in calories by volume, so you have to eat a lot of them to get the same calories you’d get from a candy bar, but it can be done, especially if you don’t exercise.

Answer by Rhee
Yes most deffinatly, unfortunatly.
Fruits are usually very sugary and although they are good for you, stick to the two serves recommended per day.
Vegetables can be high in carbohydrate (corn, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot, etc etc) and in large quantities can cause to becomming over weight. Stick to the 3 serves we are supposed to have a day.
You can have a little more but be aware of only eating as much as your body needs and of the right things.
Hope that helpes

eating healthy foods
Question–: why does eating healthy foods make me sick?
i am going on a diet where i only eat healthy foods like fruits, veggies, whole grain breads and meat without fats, but for some reason its making my stomich feel hungry and sick. Is this normal and will i get used to it or will i feel sick like this as long as i keep going on like this?

The answer in the following: (Hint: The reader is not the correct identification.)

Answer by mrfroo
Your stomach is adjusting to your new diet – especially if you cut portions – just be sure to eat a little bit of fat – your body needs it to absorb and convert vitamins.

Answer by mls
Your body is probably in detox mode… Usally takes about 5 days to clear up, then you should have more energy and start to feel better.

Answer by heyyayaya
Right now your body is used to consuming junk ( don’t worry, I’ve been there too ). It will take a while for your body to get used to its new diet. Within the next 3 to 10 days you will begin to experience a renewed energy and feel so much better about yourself.

Just let your body adjust. Don’t relapse, it will make your body hurt worse!

Side note: Be sure you’re getting the right amount of protein and iron. Those are two very important things to take when you’re eating mostly fruits and vegetables. Monitor your intake to see what exactly you need to replace.

Answer by Ew! A used Band-Aid!
Your body is so used to proccessed foods that it is “rejecting” the healthy food. This just means that your body needs time to adjust. Keep eating healthy, you can do it!

Answer by David
u maybe never really ate healthy food so your stomach is adjusting it wont hurt if u keep eating healthy 4 a while

Answer by Barb Outhere
Any sudden change in diet, no matter how healthy, is going to result in stomach upset.
There are ways to avoid it. Just make the change more gradual, introducing new foods slowly, and only one or two at a time. Wait a few days, then try something else. Be careful when introducing high/er fiber foods as they can cause gas if your not used to them.
Its like I tell my children. When the plum trees come ripe, start with just one plum a day for a week, then 2 for a few days, then 3-5 max a day. That helps them avoid tummy upsets from a new food (for the season). Otherwise they get stomach aches and/or diarrhea. Its not that there’s anything wrong with the fruit, its just that the system isn’t used to handling it.

Answer by i love toast
your body is getting used to the healthy stuff
give it a week or two and you will be fine

Answer by Ecila
If you weren’t eating fruits and vegetables before then your body is probably just adjusting to the types of food you’re now eating. If you’re feeling hungry then make sure you eat, just make it something healthy. You don’t want to be depriving yourself too much of the nutrients you need.

Answer by Burt C
DETOX, your body is going to detox while still asking you for carbs…There is a thing called Carb addiction. It will take a little bit to get used to it

Answer by i_luv_soccer808
ur body is not used to the change
but it will get used to it
its in the detox stage but once all the bad is gone
ull feel much better

The New Jersey State Library supported the American Heart Association’s Third Annual Start Eating Healthy Day on Nov. 2 by providing apple cider and a choice of a variety of apples to employees as a mid-morning snack. Apples were also distributed at the Talking Book & Braille Center in mid-afternoon. The national day-long event was aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of making healthy food choices and to encourage everyone to incorporate healthier foods into their daily diet. Healthy Eating Day at the State Library was sponsored by the library’s Recreation Committee.
