3 cups flour,
6 teaspoons baking POWDER,
1/2 teaspoon salt,
75 grams (or about 2 and three quarter oz) chopped cold butter,
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk (different brands of flour absorb different amounts of liquid so you gotta adjust)

preheat oven to 200 degrees celcius or 400 fareinheit.

sift dry ingredients into a bowl, and rub the butter into the flour mixture untill it resembles fine breadcrumbs (this step can be done in a food processor, and will be quicker this way)

add enough milk to mix to a soft, slighty sticky dough. knead a few times (flour your hands and work surface if its too sticky), dont let the gluten develop.

divide into 12 pieces and space the dough spaced apart on a greased tray.

brush tops with milk and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

you can add different flavours to this base recipe such as chocolate chips and cocoa, dates, raisins, grated cheese etc. this is a very easy recipe!
hope this helps!!

Simple Scones

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt 8 tablespoons unsalted butter,
frozen
1/2 cup raisins (or dried
currants)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 large egg

DIRECTIONS:
1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Grate butter into flour mixture on the large holes of a box grater; use your fingers to work in butter (mixture should resemble coarse meal), then stir in raisins.
3. In a small bowl, whisk sour cream and egg until smooth.
4. Using a fork, stir sour cream mixture into flour mixture until large dough clumps form. Use your hands to press the dough against the bowl into a ball. (The dough will be sticky in places, and there may not seem to be enough liquid at first, but as you press, the dough will come together.)
5. Place on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7- to 8-inch circle about 3/4-inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining 1 tsp. of sugar. Use a sharp knife to cut into 8 triangles; place on a cookie sheet (preferably lined with parchment paper), about 1 inch apart. Bake until golden, about 15 to 17 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and serve warm or at room temperature.

Lemon Scones

These delicate scones are the perfect lightly sweet treat to serve with coffee or tea at any holiday get-together. It’s a simple bread since, like biscuits, it doesn’t require much kneading and there’s no need to let the dough rise.

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold butter or margarine

1/2 cup sour milk*

1-1/2 teaspoons grated lemon peel

Additional sugar

PREP 15 min.

COOK 20 min.

TOTAL 35 min.

DIRECTIONS

In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add milk and lemon peel, stirring just until mixed. Turn onto a floured surface; knead gently six times. Shape into a ball. On a greased baking sheet, pat dough into a circle about 1/2 in thick and 8-1/2 in. in diameter. Using a sharp knife, cut wedges in the dough, being careful not to cut all the way through. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Yield: 10-12 scones. Editor’s Note: To sour milk, place 1-1/2 teaspoons white vinegar in a measuring cup. Add enough milk to equal 1/2 cup.
