How serious is your eating? I mean- you may be eating because you’re depressed.
Talk to your doctor about methods to increase your happiness in life- they may prescribe anti-depressants or refer you to a counselor.
It’s fun to eat for comfort (for example at menstruation) but not all the time. Eating all the time is bordering on a disorder, which is never a good thing

This is an addiction, just like alcohol, gambling, or sex. This is very hard to deal with, because so much time of the day is devoted to eating. You have to fight temptation at least 3x’s a day, then with vending machines around, constant commercials on tv for food, socializing with friends and family often means having food with them. It is just very hard to deal with since we are constantly bombarded with food.
I have the same problem…I eat constantly. Can’t stop thinking about food, mostly sweets. I found that I have to have portion control and will power. When I am stressed, I really want to eat. I tried meditation several times a day, only if it is for 5 – 10 minutes at a time, and talking to others about my ‘problem’. Set rules for yourself, like you can’t eat anything else once you have eaten lunch for at least 2 hours or something like that. No eating after 3 hours before bedtime. I’d be happy to talk to you about it more if you would like. Email me if you want to talk.

Eating releases dopamine into your brain that comforts you and makes you feel better. The same chemical can be released by crying. There’s three main feel-good chemicals . The others are cerotonin and endorphine. Both of these chemicals can be found in chocolate. Cerotonin makes you feel giddy and happy and can be made with vitamin D. Vitamin D is common in sunlight and milk. Endorpines are the same chemicals of love and nostalgia, they can be obtained through exercise and acupuncture. So try going for a run in the bright sunlight or just sit down and have a good cry. If nothing else works, you can go ahead and eat, but try to eat a number of small meals rather than large meals. There’s nothing wrong with grazing.

Find out why you’re soothing yourself with food. It’s usually a fair bet that it’s to push down some feelings that are not pleasant. Some stuff left over from way back that you have not dealt with yet. It’s worth doing the counselling because you will find aspects of yourself that you haven’t realized yet. It’s exciting as well as a bit scary. You’ll find out why you eat constantly. Good luck. It’s an exciting and rewarding journey.
