No one buys book reviews. Plus, if a publisher or author is buying good reviews then your review looses credibility and when readers know you’re being paid to give the review then they’re going to wonder if your review is honest and most likely look elsewhere for an honest review.

Really, though, there are many bloggers and random readers who review books for free on their blogs and at places like Amazon and Goodreads. The MOST you can hope to get out of reviewing books is free books from the publishers. If you have a blog and you review books regularly, especially new books, then you might stand a chance of getting free books from the publisher to review and you might even be lucky enough to be asked to have your blog host the author on his/her blog tour.

Check out some book review blogs to see how they do it and follow publishers and authors on twitter and facebook and you might be offered the opportunity to be given a free book for an honest review on your blog and you might even be given a free copy to give away to one of your blog readers.

I have been studying up in preparation for my GRE next week. I took one 5 years ago and the scores are no longer valid. Since I have been out of the test loop, I bought a study book to review. Exciting stuff…let me tell you.
