you just have to have a decent sized tank, good food for Ur fishy, a few plants for security for the fish, clean his water 1x per week… keep away from direct light (no lamp over it),& a tank buddy…

I have 2 and they are HAPPY !!!!!!

i had a goldfish that stayed alive for four years maybe i can help. i had a ten gallon fish tank for my fish i had twelve or thirteen fish that lived together in the tank. Do not let the fish get freaked out alot, i feed my fish once or twice a day in the morning and at night, i prefer not to let a fish live by it self, so its not lazy and moving around alot. My goldfish was the size of my palm before i had to leave all my fish home during a hurricane and the house got flooded with sea water.so if you need anything more e mail me i still have lots to tell.

In order to have a healthy goldfish, buy for it natural plants or buy it caves.
Get an air filter and a temperture of around 23-24 degrees.
You can also train your goldfish buy buying a training kit at the local petstore.

If you have anymore questions, you can visit the local petstore’s vet.

First get a good sized tank, fish bowls aren’t suitable for many reasons.

If you are putting new fish into the tank then make sure the waters are the same temperature because a sudden change in temperature could kill it (also if your putting a new fish with old fish put them in quarantine for a few weeks so you don’t introduce new diseases to your tank).

When changing water put Tapsafe or something similar in the water because it reduces the amount of chlorine in the water being added making it a healthier environment for your fish.

Use a filter in your tank so that the fishes waste isn’t left in the water because the ammonia goldfish produce is actually toxic to them.

When buying new fish look to make sure they have their fins up, their scales aren’t damaged, they don’t have white spots on their bodies (this can be a disease called white-spot which can kill your fish and any others they are kept with unless treated straight away, this happened to our pondful of fish), also check the fins are in good condition.

Clean out your tank once a week and occasionally clean your filter as well.

If your fish seem unwell you can go to a pet shop which will have a variety of medicines for treating diseases just make sure you measure it out properly, also if it is just one fish isolate it from the others to prevent the disease but treat both fish just to be safe.

Enjoy your fish keeping :)

The main things are lots of water volume, clean water, and not overfeeding them. – http://www.exoticgoldfish.net/care.html#water -
