I need a website with book reviews on it because what happened is, when I went to school on Friday, my teacher said that we have to write a book review on a novel we read in the past week but she never even told us about it. I basically have just this week-end to do a book review. If she warned us, then most of us in the class would’ve got a book to read. I would’ve got one but I didn’t know at all.

Are you planning on copying a review or just reading reviews in order to figure out how to write one?

If the former, don’t even think about it. If your review sounds too professional or mature, your teacher will be suspicious. She could google portions of it and find the original review online.

Your teacher did tell you about the assignment — on Friday. She was assuming that you normally read books for pleasure, so she wasn’t saying that you suddenly had to spend the weekend reading a book and then writing a review. Instead, you’re supposed to write a review of a book you’ve ALREADY read.

So, if you didn’t read a novel last week, at least choose one you’ve read before, sometime in the past.

As for how to write a review, there are a lot of sites. Amazon has customer reviews for most of the books it sells. For examples of more professional reviews, you could look at “The Complete Review” (see below).

But DON’T copy! That’s plagiarism!

Try SparkNotes. The website breaks down everything about a book in complete summaries from chapter to chapter, and you can find pretty much any book assigned to high school students.

I’ve never used this site myself because I always read my assignments, but my sister and a lot of my friends rave about it.
