Question: Legitimate book reviews ??

Where can I get book reviews from legitimate critics on the web?? I need to find a review for the book “On the Beach” by Neville Shute, but it has to be from a legitimate source, not just anyone. Like from a newspaper but I’ve had no luck. Any suggestions ???

On the Beach by Nevil Shute

I have found 3 summaries for you to look at, via the links below. Unfortunately only the “sparknotes” review is free.

These links will give you a summary of the book, character analysis, plot and much more, so that you will be able to answer literary questions. Here is a short extract of what you can expect from the summaries.

Context

Nevil Shute Norway was born on January 17, 1899, in London. He first glimpsed warfare in Dublin during the Easter uprising of 1916, in which he acted as a stretcher-bearer. His older brother was killed during World War I. Nevil enlisted and spent the last three months of the war in England, and went on to study at Oxford University and become one of the most successful aeronautical engineers in Britain in the 1930s. His aviation company developed techniques that would help make air warfare extremely effective.

Well, I might prefer you use a different word than “legitimate” because all reviews are “legitimate”. You must be asking for someone who professionally reviews books. Someone who gets paid for it. Sometimes, though, amateur reviewers can be much better than the so-called critics who get paid.

Anyway…Since that book came out so long ago, your best bet would be to go to your local library and look at their “Book Review Digest” for the year the book came out (this is only “professional” reviews) (1957 for Hardback and 1983 for Paperback). If they don’t have it (which would be surprising) some libraries might have online access to book reviews.
