Question: Is it best to mainly have a care free, happy go lucky approach to life?
and if so do you think you need friends to achieve this, for example it would be hard to be care free and go shopping or cinema or restaurants with no friends (i have some trust issues with friends letting me down).

Well, I think so but what do I know, I’m a born optimistic. And I’m also kind of a loner so I can go to the cinema or have lunch at a restaurant on my own (I actually enjoy those times) but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to go with friends also. I think you kinda need both to be happy I mean you need to know your confident enough to do those thing alone but not all the time cause then your life would just be too lonely and that’s when friends and family are for.

We have to define the extent of your carefreeness here. For example, if you are really carefree, you don’t mind having friends or not having them. You have no worries and do pretty much whatever you want with no care for the consequences of your actions.
However, for every action there is a consequence; that’s is why people plan ahead to reduce the negative consequences of their actions and maximise the postitive ones.
You can therefore get away with being carefree if you will be able to constantly have this attitude even in light of some negative consequences of your actions. If you can do this, you might be able to reach the elusive happiness that all people seek.
My personal opinion though is, put some breaks there and find a balance between the extremes of happy go lucky, and sour lemon who plans everything ahead.
Good luck.
