I once saw a program that made chicken parmesan with toasted panko breadcrumbs. You coat the chicken with the breadcrumbs and bake on a rack in the oven for a crispy fried taste with little calories. To toast the breadcrumbs use approximatley 1 cup and 1 tbl olive oil and fry till toasted. Just make sure you use little cheese and a low calorie tomato sauce.

try this one..
Low Fat Italian-Style Chicken
This is a quick and easy recipe to make, requiring only four main ingredients. There’s no clean-up, either, as the chicken breasts are cooked in foil packets. All that’s needed to accompany this low fat Italian-style chicken are some vegetables on the side and perhaps some noodles.
INGREDIENTS:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup no-salt-added marinara sauce (like Trader Joe’s organic)
1/2 cup reduced fat shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup freshly chopped basil
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Tear 4 sheets of foil wrap measuring 12″ by 18″. Place one chicken breast in the center of each foil sheet. Spoon one-fourth of the marinara sauce over each chicken piece, followed by cheese and basil.
Bring up the sides of the foil and fold the top edge over twice. Seal the edges, leaving enough room for air to circulate inside. Place each packet on a large cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Unseal foil packets carefully, as the steam will be extremely hot. Enjoy with noodles and vegetables.
Serves 4.
Per Serving: Calories 239, Calories from Fat 49, Total Fat 5.5g (sat 2.4g), Cholesterol 108mg, Sodium 275mg, Carbohydrate 4.1g, Fiber 0.6g, Protein 43.4g

Italian cuisine is very healthy in fact, but thanks to its spices, it can increase your appetite, and that’s the most common problem with it. But it requests natural and healthy ingredients, without any preservatives and sugar, and it’s easy for digesting. If you want to “make a pause” and still to keep the italian style in your kitchen, there are some suggestions:
Spaghetti diet (people who tried it say it was succesful):
MONDAY:
Breakfast: 2 orange juice, low-fat yogurt (2 dl), 3 tablespoons of mussli. In-between: a little bowl of boiled rice. Lunch: 180 g of flounder or any white fish, baked/grilled without any fats, 150 g of green pods, integral pastry (roll or something). In-between: 1 apple. Dinner: 70 g of maccaroni with tomato sauce and 1 boild egg.
TUESDAY:
Breakfast: 1 orange juice, herbal tea and a slice of integral bread. In-between: 1 apple. Lunch: salad consisting of tomato puree and 100 g of mozzarella, with some basil and olive oil; one piece of any soya pastry. In-between: 1 yoogurt (2 dl). Dinner: 70 g of integral spaghetti with boiled vegetables, with the addition of tomato sauce with some sage.
WEDNESDAY:
Breakfast: 1 yogurt (2 dl) with 3 tablespoons of oat flakes, 1 glass of orange juice. In-between: 2 kiwi fruits. Lunch: 200 g of hake, prepared without any fats; some boiled vegetbles and a slice of integral bread. In-between: 1 banana. Dinner: 60 g of integral pasta with 100 g of green pods and mixed salad.
THURSDAY:
Breakfast: Herbal tea, 1 apple and integral toast with the low-calory marmelade. In-between: 1 yogurt (2 dl). Lunch: 200 g of boiled pods and one boiled carrot, 100 g of shrimps fryed without any fats, a piece of integral pastry. In-between: 1 apple. Dinner: 50 g of integral rice with 30 g of beef (boiled or grilled), 150 g of fresh carrot (grated), one half of any integral pastry.
FRIDAY
Breakfast: 1 glass of low-fat milk with 3 spoons of wheat flakes. In-between: 1 pear. Lunch: 150 g of lettuce with one hard boiled egg, half of an apple, 4 nuts, one slice of integral bread, any light sauce. In-between: 1 yogurt. Dinner: soup made of vegetables and 40 g of pasta, 30 g of fresh white cheese.
SATURDAY:
Breakfast: 1 carrot juice, 2 slices of integral toast with some low-calory marmelade. In-between: 1 banana. Lunch: 150 g of grilled chicken breasts (or wried without any fats), some lettuce. In-between: 1 low-fat fruit yogurt. Dinner: 50 g of boiled rice with 150 of gourds, one slice of integral bread.
SUNDAY:
Breakfast: herbal tea, 1 orange and 5 integral cookies. In-between: 1 yogurt. Lunch: lentils cooked with chard and carrots. In between: carrot & lemon juice. Dinner: 1 egg omelette, 60 g of boiled integral rice, 100 g of boiled spinach, one piece of soya pastry.
Some suggestions for the “light” sauces:
1) Lemon sauce: 1 lemon juice, some yogurt, mustard, salt and black pepper.
2) Pink sauce: grapefruit juice, white cheese, mustard, tomato puree.
3) Tomato puree sauce: mashed tomato, garlic, parsley, salt, black pepper.
4) Green onion sauce: white cheese, chopped green onions, salt, black pepper.
5) Curry sauce: white cheese, curry powder, lemon, salt.

A:

salads with oil and vinegar , whole wheat pastas in small portions . tomato sauce is extremely good for you as is garlic . try the low fat guy on food network .com low carb and lovin it with George Stella
just remembered one from Alton Brown on Good Eats it’s spaghetti squash alfredo… delicious

A:

There is alot of healthy Italian food – in fact, most Italian food is based on the Mediterranean diet, which in terms of heart disease is one of the healthiest types of diet out there! This is due in large part to the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated oils they use instead of saturated oils and trans fats like our typically American diet. Olive oil is the main oil they use, and alot of fish, and fruits and vegetables. Pasta is fine in moderation, too, especially with olive oil and veggies – meat can be used almost like a condiment, to give extra flavor, in small portions.

A:
I make lots of “cream” pasta sauces using chicken stock and fat-free half & half. They always have garlic and onion, but the other ingredients vary. They might include a variety of sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, asparagus, roasted red peppers, a small amount of turkey or chicken Italian sausage or chopped cooked chicken, shrimp, grated parmesan or pecorino romano. Cook down to thicken if necessary or add a bit of cornstarch.
For me the sauce being low-fat offsets the calories in the pasta for that meal dieting wise. We like this so much that we almost can’t eat the high fat, ultra rich sauces in restaurants.I make lots of “cream” pasta sauces using chicken stock and fat-free half & half.
Real Italian food is very healthy – with durum semolina and rich in flavor and vegetables it is the American versions made with flour and loads of animal fats you need to shy away from. On the whole Italian foods are really great for loosing weight. Try some with fresh fish, shellfish and real semolina pasta you will get full faster and always have a soup and salad before the main course to help your digestion – for dessert have a small glass of brandy instead of cakes or cookies or a demitasse of espresso. Try northern Italian dishes and those from the coast for the best richest flavors with the least fat. Abbondanza!

if flavours are too intense, or textures too rough then baby wont even entertain them
its gentle subtle changes that he will like..
babies dont get bored of flavours, they need to get used to them, also with texture
just vary things slightly, spinach is way too strong i think.. try a soft mush of all very softly cooked veg, carrot broc cauli(but not too much) dont add salt either..its not needed..
there are many sites and books available for you, but just try various things…

A

Baby’s tend to love sweet potato, so try mashing sweet potatoe with babys formula or breast milk depending on what you are using.
For my little one i use to combine carrots, pumpkin, potato and sweet poato mashed and he loved it. Try introducing things slowly bit by bit. If he refuses to eat just keep trying and make sure you get him at a time where he is really hungry so that he wants to eat.

A

I used to watch my mother make baby food for my siblings when I was younger. She would usually place vegetables and such in a food processor and place the food into little containers and freeze them. When she wanted to use them, she would microwave them for a few minutes. You can search some sites if you want a particular recipe for the foods your baby likes. I will give you a site with basic instructions. Good luck!

A

I think you have to experiment a bit. At 6 months my son refused to eat mashed up food so I just gave him what we had, he seemed to enjoy the lumps and crunchy textures, I never blended anything again.

A BIG bag of Doritos costs less than a bag of oranges & a 12-pack of soda costs less than a gallon of milk. Why?

A: i think its because unhealthy food sellers wanna make you buy their gross stuff so they make it cheape rthen whats actually good for you stuff. i hope that made sens.

A: Junk food makers are notorious for using extremely cheap chemicals/ingredients that actually make food taste better, but allows the manufacturers to create these products with a huge profit margin. Quality food is usually natural and therefore takes time to grow, create etc. Check the ingredients list on your junk food and you will be shocked at what you read. You really do get what you pay for

A: Who knows the answer to that question, but yes it’s ridiculous that a gallon of milk cost more than a 12 pack of sodas. Small children need milk and the food industry makes it so expensive. Same with baby formula. Look at the price of that along with baby food. You’ll be so shocked. Cheese is another thing to look at. That’s a chosen food group for growing children, nursing mothers, etc…the price is a little pricey. It’s quite sad that our government has allowed cost to get out of control.

A: Producing natural foods (no pesticides, natural fertilizers, natural pest treatments) is more labor intensive than “industrial” farming, plus there can be more risk of loss (more vulnerable to natural problems like blights and bug infestations.) But you get more nutrition for your buck, a lot more. You get less food, but better quality, see what I mean?

A: It’s all about cost
Chips are easily mass produce and think about packaging chip bags are half empty(me thinks that factory workers are sampling the merchandise) while oranges cannot go for longer than 3 weeks of the branch. chips have a shelf life of 16 months.
same thing with soda, all they need to do is make the syrup and it can last for 3 years in this form, 2 in cans, while milk turns bad in a 2 weeks.
it is more expensive to grow stuff like orange groves and cows

A: I actually heard the answer to this on National Public Radio. The most heavily government subsidized crops are wheat, sugar and corn. Most junk food is made with some combination of that; so it’s the junk food industry that profits

A: I have always wondered that too!
It really opens your mind to a lot. The government talks about obesity and they wonder why we are fat? not everyone can afford to eat well

A: Because growing something takes more work rather than a computer mixing synthetic edible ingredients.

A: I say it’s a gimmick to destroy our health, like when gas stations sell a 44oz. soft drink for 69 cents! Yeah, it sounds good, but overtime it could lead to serious health problems if it’s consistently consumed!

I’m trying to loose weight but I’m always hungry no matter what I eat. Any suggestions that make you feel full. (without pills)

A: Drink Lots and lots of water throughout the day because you feel full….and try protein shakes because they have all the good nutrients without the fat and they fill you up

A: celery is a dieters best friend. it takes more energy to digest it than celery actually contains! and it fills you up.

A: O this is good and makes you full. Its a healthy snack. Get a peice of celery and but a little but of peanut-butter on in and out raisens ontop of the peanut butter and yummm you got a great snack! You can have like 1-3 of those! Or peanut butter and apples are good. Maybe even a power bar, or 100 callorie backs.

A: Protine keeps you full longer…keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge for snakes or a tin of tuna there are some nice new ones out ready to eat. Try lean cuts of meats and go easy on dairy products and bread.

A: Meal bars. From either Special K or Slim Fast. They are very filling. Don’t mistake them as a snack because most people do and just gain more weight. If you are used to eating a lot of food than eat it for lunch with a small fruit cup. Meal bars are also good because they have delicious flavor. They have chocolate, peanut butter, you name it. Try not to be a couch potatoe and exercise everyday. If you are too lazy to exercise than go to the mall or theme parks with friends. You burn about 500 calories at those places and when you are with your friends they keep you running around. Just try to stay away from the giant turkey legs and free samples

A: Well try baby carrots in a helthy organic dip or i know how to make a great mini pizza thats really simple. Just get some whole wheat bread on put some mozzerala on it. You could add tomato sauce and pickles to, just try not to put to much on. If this dosen’t work then just toast spme whole wheat bread and put a little bit of olive oil. Those are the best ideas that i can think of.

A: lowfat yogurt, lowfat milk, drink A LOT of water. everytime you eat something drink 8 ounces of water before and after anything you eat. eat 3 snacks and 3 meals a day and remember lots of water!!! good luck

instead of the chocs etc i have started to make my own fruit salad of banana, strawberries n grapes! im actually enjoying it more than the choc!
instead of fryin my meats (i hardly eat meat but when i do..) i grill or cook them in the oven so no oil is used.
for snacks i hav a low calorie cup a soup
i drink plenty of water
and lunch time i will be having a plate of pasta/rice so i’ll have energy for my walk/jog later on
avoid fastfood, sugary food and sodas (empty calories!)
go for a walk even if its just 10minutes 3times a day!
sry i dnu wat PCOS stands for :/
good luck n tc xx

A: if you cook, try not to fry your meat.
cooking meat in a light spray of pam and baking or grilling it is healthier
also try to buy lean meats and cut off any excess fat.
do you drink soda?
try having no soda for about a month, it makes a huge difference trust me.
i was so hooked on dr.pepper for the longest time, but i gave it up a month ago and my body definitely changed!
its little things like that, like miisy elliot cut out cupcakes and she lost alot of weight too.
so find your unhealthy binge and cut it out. just one item, then you can have a slow transition to healthier foods.

A: Excellent question. Its difficult to create an exact formula and say that this is what healthy eating is all about. Its individualistic and dependent on your age, gender, past medical history, genetic predisposition, etc.
However here are some general guidelines which are simple to follow :
1. Next time you have a meal, look carefully at your plate. Is 50% of the food fresh or partially cooked vegetables and fruit?
Remember 50% fresh fuit and veg : 25% carbohydrates (preferably low GI and low calories) : 25% protein (meat, soya, beans)
That is what a typical plate should look like. Its not the ideal health eating, fat busting habit but its a good start.
2. How will my food be prepared? Grilled, fried, baked, etc. I think you can figure out which is the healthier option so go for that cooking method.
3. Did I get sufficient fibre and water for the day? Many people drink a few ounces after eating a meal. That is not sufficient. You need a good fluid intake at regular intervals throughout the day. It will also assist with you not eating too much.
4. Do I really need to eat so much? Try not to watch TV while eating. You may eat more than you should. And do not serve large portions for yourself.
5. Did I have 3 to 5 meals today? Having more small meals will assist with regulating blood sugar levels and preventing fatigue. It also prevents you from bingeing on just one meal.
In terms of PCOS, avoid too many processed foods. Eat more fresh fruit and veg especially leafy green veg. Only have low GIB carbs. And ensure you are getting a good iron intake. You would probably find more info online.
Lean meat is always preferable and fish would be your best option. In a single sitting, never eat a piece of meat thats larger than your palm. Thats just a crude measure of what is an acceptable quantity per meal.
Don’t dive into a hectic workout schedule. Start off slow. The thing about getting proper exercise that is beneficial for your health is CONSISTENCY. So before you sign up at the gym, try to see if you have the interest to exercise frequently. Commit to something simple like a 2 mile walk at least 3 times a week on specific days. See if you can stick to it. If you really are consistent, then start up on a more rigorous routine at the gym, etc

A: It is obvious you are looking for a complete lifestyle change which is going to be hard at first but as long as you take your time & try to adjust over time you should have no problems. With regards to food ideas, I would say any fresh produce that can be cooked at home is the place to start. So what you do is go to your local supermarket & look for any produce like fruit, vegetables & meat that can be cooked at home & start preparing your meals. There are so many different varieties of food now available that it might be advisable to give google a search to see which ones are more healthy than others. After you have worked out your eating plan, you can then concentrate on what sort of exercise routine you will need. Now with any form of exercising you should start out slowly & then build yourself up over time. The best form of exercise to start with is simple walking. You will be surprised how beneficial a walk can be for the body, but again, start out doing short walks & then increase your pace & length of walk gradually. The most important thing when considering any life style change like this is that it wont work unless you are 100% totally committed to it, but having said that, you have started the process that will hopefully lead to you being a more healthy person. Good luck & remember you must be dedicated & determined to achieve your goals !

A: If you put yummy fillings in an omlet made with Egg Beaters, it can taste pretty good.
Whole wheat toast is good for you, and you can put a bit of jelly on it.
Hot or cold cereals with the fruit(s) of your choice is probably the healthiest.
Many people enjoy yogurt and granola for breakfast

A: eggs benadict it is very good! if you dont know what it is go to google and look for it

A: mix frozen fruits like berries, with skim milk and ice and a little vanilla frozen yogurt in a blender. GREATEST BREAKFAST EVER… i add some protein powder as well

A: I live in the country so it’s easier for me to eat healthier than most. When I cook trout I caught in local streams for dinner I save some of the meat from them and cook it with rice, peppers, and onions in my microwave pressure cooker. Sometimes with fresh brown eggs from my Black Australorp chickens that are free range so their eggs are low cholesterol..

A: Hey!
Try whole wheat bagels or bread. They taste the same, and are really good for you. If you are a peanut butter lover, you’re in luck! Peanut butter has a lot of protein. You can spread it on your bagel or use low-fat cream cheese. Orange Juice is a great way to start a day. Good luck!

A: My favorite thing to eat for breakfast is ….. soup. Especially, types of chicken … italian wedding ….. vegetable soup ….. bean soup etc. With bread …. such as italian bread or a kaiser roll …. this is the best, esp. in the winter time.

A: Deliicous, Yet Healthy? Id try a flavored Oatmeal, With a Fruit Topping, Bannanas, or berries And stay away from the processed things

A: I love a protein and amino packed choice consisting of maca mixed in my pancakes or waffles or fruit smootthie. I get it from healthywiseorganics.com…they have the best organic on the market

A: Make your own granola cereal to your taste. Suggested ingredients are 1) favorite nuts, 2)Wheat germ, 3) Raisins, 4) oatmeal, 4) sunflower seeds, 5) Anything else healthy that you like the taste of.

I am trying to lose weight but I eat when I am bored, sad, anxious etc.
What if I munch on grapes, oranges, other fruits, all day long…will I lose weight or no?
Of course not litterly ALL DAY…but whenever I just feel like eating again Ill grab an orange, or a bunch of grapes.

A:

it’s actually not the food, but the amount of calories you consume. Healthy food means good for your health, not for weight loss. You can overeat on grapes, too: one kilo of grapes has 650 calories, eat 4 kilos a day, and you did it.
If you used to eat high caloric food all the day long, and now is replacing it with fruit, yes, you will lose weight at first. When your caloric intake will again coordinate to your weight needs, you will stop losing it. You should break this snacking habit, and try to have three meals a day, and that is that.

A:

Snacking in a healthy way is much better than snacking on junk food. But remember, a calorie is a calorie (although you can eat more healthy foods than you can junk foods…calorie wise). Just burn off more calories than you consume.

A:

sure! as long as you dont consume too many cals, you should be fine♥

A:

Yeah it’s actually better for you to eat small portions all day rather than just three big meals

A:

To an extent….it depends on which “healthy” foods you choose. Fruits tend to have a higher sugar/calorie content than veggies, so veggies would be the better choice.
Check the Curves website. It used to have a list of “free” foods that you were allowed to eat as much as you wanted.
You mention that you eat when stressed, etc. Sometimes eating is just a way of actually doing something with our nervous jitters. It helps if you can change your routine or stay away from what upsets you. Sometimes that can’t be avoided though. By recognizing that you are becoming stressed, you can try to maybe take a walk, etc to calm down some. Exercise also help to reduce your hunger in addition to burning calories. You can also try doing something that involves using your hands – like working outdoors – which is a side benefit in that you are “away” from food.
Good luck!

A:

yeah u will lose weight! cause its healthy food!! so it burns the fat calories in ur body!!

If you are looking for a healthy restaurant, there are several things to consider. Ideally, we should prepare our food at home. They will be fresher and more nutritious. But we all like to eat out occasionally. It's fun.

It is doubtful that you can find a restaurant serving only healthy food. Some people prefer high-fat, high sodium, high-calorie foods with low nutritional value, for some reason. It's probably a question of what have become accustomed to eating.

Therefore, you have to read the menu. To tell good foods from bad foods on the menu, here are some suggestions.

Choose fish or chicken breasts instead of beef, pork or beef liver. Restaurants tend to use beef with high fat content. Pork and liver are always high in fat. Seafood baked or grilled chicken breasts are low in calories and total fat than those that are fried.

Most soups, except for French onion, are low in calories and very filling, but can be high in sodium. Whole-grain breads are healthier fast food, but may have a high glycemic index, which is a concern for people with type II diabetes or hyperglycemia.

If you're looking for something of a disc through the restaurant, the best we can do is a chicken sandwich, grilled or baked, without mayonnaise. Choice of vegetables other than potato chips or baked is a good idea.

If you're trying to lose weight, might be a good idea to stay away from restaurants for a while. There are lots of hidden calories in things that are supposed to be food fast healthy.

Snacks like granola bars are sometimes considered as health food, but really have a lot of sugar and grains is not enough. Raisins are a good choice if you want something really sweet. Otherwise, continue with fresh fruit or applesauce whenever possible.

The foods you eat, at the same time, and time of day you eat a couple of important considerations. Most people do not realize it, but only certain nutrients can be absorbed when combined with other nutrients.

Remember that food manufacturers are using a marketing strategy when making statements about the provision of fast food. They know that millions of people are overweight. They are trying to exploit this huge market and make millions from their bottom lines. Whether or not these foods are really good for your health is questionable.

The best foods are those that contain only natural ingredients. They are lightly processed, to ensure that the nutritional value remains intact.

Use these tips when you are looking for healthy food fast. Hopefully that will make it easier for you to make healthier choices.

Hands down, if there is one thing that can and will affect your overall health is what you put into your body on a daily basis. The foods we eat, along with the amount of them we eat and how to prepare and such, is closely connected to the overall health of our body. Most times, we simply take our health for granted, and we just eat what we like and what we want, or what is available at the time without thinking much about the effects it can have on us later down the line and that is why in this article, we show the benefits of eating good food, compared to many health problems that are linked to unhealthy diets.

First, we must be willing to stop thinking about the desirability used as the main guide to what we eat. You will find that eating all that is faster to prepare, or easier to get a hold of is often not the best or the healthiest option. Yes, sometimes it's perfectly fine for you just grab what ever, but when it becomes a problem is when this type of eating becomes a regular habit, and healthy eating, good food is lost in the pursuit of eat something that is faster and easier to obtain or prepare. Once we get rid of this kind of thinking, then we can help eliminate the habit of eating whatever is most convenient, and work our way to eating and living a healthier life.

Now that we got rid of our constant desire to eat everything that is near or faster to do, because that's where the problem is when it all the time, let's look at how not to eat the options can benefit your health .

First, when you eat packaged meals from the frozen food section, or even things that are kept all the time, you will find that these foods tend to be high in sodium, which is used to help preserve the food. By choosing to eliminate these foods from your diet, and eat well, you will be able to reduce your risk of high blood pressure and coronary heart disease.

Another benefit that you can enjoy good food, healthy food is that you will discover your mood will improve, your body will feel better and in general will feel and be healthier than ever. Eating well is vital for a healthy life, so do not wait until it's too late. Start today!
