Question: Do you need to get permission from film makers to write a book with film reviews?

I have been working on a book of horror movie reviews. If I decided to have it published, would I need to get permission to include each film? Or is it considered fair game?

You don’t need permission to mention a film or discuss YOUR opinions of it….if you quote SOMEONE ELSE, you need their permission to reprint it (from the publication that originally printed the quote/review).

You don’t have to ask for permission to publish your own opinion, which is a review.
