Question–: Simple chicken teriyaki recipe?
I have about a cup of teriyaki and 4 people to feed with 4 chicken breasts and some rice. Along with other ingredients, can you give me a simple recipe to marinade and prepare the chicken? I don’t need any stir-fry recipe’s or anything, just a simlpe marinade for the chicken. I have soy sauce and almost all seasonings.
Thanks!
By “A cup of teriyaki” I mean about a cup of teriyaki sauce…is that enough? Can you give me more ingredients to add to make it enough?

I have just googled this from nttp://southernfood.about.com/od/crockpotchicken/r/bl48c2.htm
Ingredients:
2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 16-oz package mixed frozen vegetables with water chestnuts
2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons dry mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange peel (or 1 tsp dried)
1 teaspoon ground ginger
hot cooked rice
Preparation:
Rinse chicken and pat dry. Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces. Add frozen vegetables to crockpot and sprinkle with the tapioca. Place chicken atop the vegetables. Combine the remaining ingredients, except rice, in a small bowl; stir to blend well. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 4 1/2 to 6 hours, or on high for 2 to 3 hours. Serve over hot cooked rice.
Serves 4 to 6.

Here’s an easy chicken teriyaki I make at home sometimes:
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, seasoned with seasoned salt, fresh ground pepper, garlic powder and ginger. Cut into bite sized pieces.
1 green bell pepper, cored, seeded and cut into chunks
1 yellow onion, peeled and cut into 1/8 inch slices
1 can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve liquid to use in rice)
1 cup teriyaki sauce
Optional veges; sliced carrots, celery, bean sprouts
Saute chicken and onion until chicken is browned and onion is translucent. Add bell pepper and pineapple chunks. Add teriyaki sauce, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve over rice.
If you don’t have enough teriyaki sauce, you can add soy sauce and brown sugar to help extend it. The soy sauce, however, will make it saltier, so use sparingly.

If it’s the thin sauce tha tlooks like worcestershire, soak yourchicken in it before cooking. If it’s the thick stuff, baste your chicken when it’s nearly done cooking.
I like teriyaki chicken on the grill, along w/ some grilled pineapple rings, fresh or canned will work. And maybe some fried rice to go along w/ it?
Fried Rice with Ham
Serves 4.
3 large eggs, lightly beaten w/ 2 tsp. waer
2 Tbsp vegetable oil, divided
½ tsp. toasted sesame oil
Coarse salt to taste
4 green onions, thinly sliced diagonally (both white and green parts)
4 garlic cloves, minced
5 oz. ham, thinly sliced and chopped (can use cooked chicken, pork, or shrimp as well)
4 cups cold cooked rice
3 Tbsp. rice vinegar
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
In a large nonstick skillet, heat 1 Tbsp. oil, swirling to coat. Beat eggs, with 2 tsp. water and ½ tsp. coarse salt. Cook in skillet, moving cooked eggs aside gently to allow raw eggs to run in their place, about 2 minutes. Transfer to plate; when cool enough to handle, cut into strips.
In same skillet, heat remaining Tbsp. vegetable oil and sesame oil. Add garlic and scallions, heat and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add ham and rice, season with salt, and cook until very hot, stirring often, about 5 minutes. Add vinegar, peas, and eggs, cook until very hot, about 2 minutes.

Chicken over Red Beans and Rice
One 10.75-ounce can chicken broth
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 whole chicken breasts, split, skinned and deboned
One 15-ounce can dark kidney beans, drained, reserving juice
1/2 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
1/4 cup green chili peppers
6 cups fluffy rice, cooked
In a shallow dish, mix chicken broth, lemon juice, cumin, pepper and salt. Remove any visible fat from chicken and place in marinade for thirty minutes in refrigerator.
Meanwhile, put one half of beans in a food processor with onion, and garlic. Process with knife blade until beans are mashed well.
Put mixture in a sauce pan with whole bean and green chiles. Add enough marinade to reserved bean juice to make 1 cup of liquid; stir into bean mixture.
Heat thoroughly on low heat for about 15 minutes. Drain chicken well.
In a Teflon pan sprayed well with vegetable cooking spray, brown chicken on both sides, add bean mixture, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Serve over rice

In reality, the beans are your protein. You don’t ‘need’ chicken.
But, you could saute some chicken on top of the stove with whatever salad dressing you have on hand. Italian is especially good, but even ranch would work.

oh, that’s a toughy. i’ve always had red beans & rice with cut up polish sausage. hmmm, i guess you could fry the chicken, make corn bread, and have the red beans & rice as a side dish rather than a main course. you could also just sub the sausage for chicken and do the recipe the same way.

Take the chicken and slice it up in to strips. Place them in a skillet and cook until browned. Once done, place in rice mixture about half way through cookin time and voila! Bon appetite!

If you have a gril, gril the chicken and then serve it with your Red Beans and Rice. I had Red Beans and rice over the weekend. It was delicous.
Answer by Cool Breeze
Cut the chicken into small cubes or strips and put it in a pan with a little olive oil or canola oil and brown the chicken. You’ll have to keep stirring and turning it. Leave it there until all the pieces have cooked clear through. Then either put it on top of your red beans and rice or stir it into the red beans and rice. Good stuff. Try it with sausage sometime, too.
