Historical — THE BOY IN STRIPED PYJAMAS by JOHN BOYNE
Animals — The animal section in the kids part of the library have tons of horse books…!
School — THE NAUGHTIEST GIRL (is a Moniter, Again etc) by ENID BLYTON
Fantasy — HARRY POTTER by JK ROWLING
Horror — IT by STEPHEN KING
Family — Dunno.
Sci-Fi — THE HOST by STEPHENIE MEYER (I haven’t read it…)
Short Stories — STEPHEN KING has tons.
Biographies and Auto Biographies
Diaries — THE DIARY of ANNE FRANK

For Anne Frank you could get people to write about experiences where they have been in danger, for Harry Potter you could get people to make wands and create disgusting recipes and for the Boy in Striped Pyjamas you could get them to write about what’s so bad about WW2.
