Question: Bobbi Brown Beauty Rules book reviews?
my friend who lives in a different city from me is shipping me the bobbi brown, Beauty Rules: Fabulous Looks, Beauty Essentials, and Life Lessons for Loving Your Teens and Twenties. what a mouthful! lol but yeahh i’ve heard bout it but not so much in depth. so if you have this book or flipped through it, was it helpful, useful, inspiring…or the total opposite?! tell me the pros and cons!

I loved it and the message it gave to girls!
On the other hand, I only learned one or two things and Bobbi Brown has a very specific view on makeup application. Sometimes I think her rules are too strick.
(example: she thinks that yellow-toned powder under the eyes is flattering for everyone.)
I don’t agree. It can work for some, but I’m Irish, and have pinkish skin tones, so using a yellow-based powder over my under-eye concealer makes me appear ill. Pearly-pink-based powders brighten my eyes. (like Benefit Powderflage)
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Bobbi Brown, there are just a few things I don’t agree with.
You will most likely enjoy the book, I did….I just felt like the book was aimed toward girls who were starting out with makeup. I knew most of the info already. If I had gotten it a couple years earlier, it would have been more helpful.

omg-i got this book for christmas, and loved it so much! the eyes section (as in eye makeup), is wonderful, and my favorite part in that was the tips she gave on eye shadow! i wish she gave a step-by-step application technique though, like with pictures. (that was my only con-haha!) all in all, the book is worth the money because it has some fab makeup tips in it-esp. made for teens! <3
