Q&A: Any tips on book reviews?

I would like any pointers for writing a good book review. I’m a little nervous about it because the writer will be reading this and I am close to the family. The good part is that I really like the book so if anyone could help me please that would be great!!

Yep. (1) Describe the basics of the plot, without giving away the ending. This might take around 3 paragraphs & 150 words. (2) Spend a final paragraph talking about how great the book is and what kind of people will like it. This might take another 50-100 words.

It might take 2-3 hours to write the book review. Spread your time out over two or three days, because the review gets a little better each night you sleep on it.

Don’t be nervous about knowing the author. We love to hear our writing praised, and we don’t expect book reviewers to write as well as people who make a living doing this.
